All the systems we install are ‘Open Protocol’ which gives full control and ownership to the customer. This allows the owner and users to choose who maintains their system, rather than being forced to stay with manufacturers of closed protocol systems. Wireless systems can also be installed for areas with decorative sensitivity or access restrictions.
For installations within noisy environments we can also install Visual Alert Equipment which works along-side the audible devices as standard.
Duty holders are responsible for setting up adequate maintenance programmes and must assess the needs and frequency requirement for maintaining the fire alarm system.
If your Fire alarm is not covered by a maintenance regime it does not comply with BS 5839 Part 1. The UK government recommends that all fire alarm and detection systems should be installed and maintained in accordance with the relevant British Standard, BS 5839 and inspected by a competent person at least every six months. The (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales, including the common parts of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupations.

There are two main reasons to keep your fire alarm in working order:
1. To alert occupants in the event of fire and prevent loss of life
2. To prevent false alarms
False alarms account for a huge number of fire brigade call-outs, resulting in expense and, more importantly, could mean that the fire brigade is otherwise occupied when a real emergency arises.
As such, charges have now been imposed for call-outs to premises which have a high number of false alarms, as an incentive for businesses to keep their fire alarms better maintained.
