Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

McLennan Compliance offers a Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) service tailored to the individual needs of your business. PAT is the term used to describe the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use.

Why do you need Portable Appliance Testing?

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and ‘Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment – 4th Edition’ require that any electrical equipment that has the potential to cause injury is maintained in a safe condition. Risk based testing of appliances, based on the ‘Code of Practice’ and HSE Guidelines, is commonplace and is driven by insurance companies and company policies.

We understand that anything that needs to be done on a regular, prescribed basis and does not interfere with the day to day running of the business can be easily overlooked. This is why we will manage your testing services for you, sending out timely reminders that the renewal date is fast approaching.

Upon completion, the test certificates can be e-mailed or posted to you and then added to our renewals database for the following programme to be scheduled.
